  1. I felt that the story tells about the attitude of common man like neglecting matters because of laziness , blaming others , thinking about problems and not about solutions etc;

  2. Every writing of R.K. Narayan fascinates me and this story is of one such kind. The first time when I read this story, I was admired by the way he depicts our Indian Tradition via Superstitious faith which is still a matter of debate among us. And the mysterious end is left to the imagination of the readers.

  5. when i read this story two things strikes my mind...1) we never change our attitudes because of others rather make them fool or try to prove yourself wise as DASA did...2) Never believe superstitious belief because it'll make you fool...!!!

  7. the story tells about a home situation.at first when i read this story i was very curious to know the action of the snake,whether the members of the house would catch it or not.later i found that the story also tells about the superstitious beliefs of humans and their negligence towards certain activities due to their laziness.I also understood the trick of the snake charmer.

  8. I have a habit of imagining everything that goes around me and i always doubt if it is a curse or a blessing and yeah R.K NARAYAN made me feel blessed... the one thing that admired me was that he made his story very virtual...yet i'm not convinced with the superstitious beliefs he had mentioned here but i felt it is one way to make people aware of the living beings around them...finally DASA you proved that you are dear old and experienced...nice twist...lol
